About

As a fantasy lover, Aurora fell in love with writing while reading multiple different book series in middle school. She has been practicing her skills in writing ever since. Her first book, "The Light We Guard", is a modern fantasy novel that shows the constant battle between light and dark...and just how blurry the line between them can be sometimes. It mixes magic, modern-day action, and relationship dynamics between characters that are sure to tug on readers' heartstrings.
Aurora started her first novel back in 2019. It took a long time to complete the first draft, but now her debut novel is finally published, and she is making her dream a reality.
When she's not writing, you can find Aurora cozied-up on the couch in her apartment with her husband, Brendan, and their orange and white cat, Dewey.

Contributors

This page is to give thanks to the amazing people who have helped me bring my work into the world.Thank you, so incredibly much. I would not be where I am today without each and every one of you.

Brendan King

My amazing husband, my biggest supporter. Brendan has inspired many ideas for my works, sharing his input on each chapter. I love workshopping my ideas with him. Finding inspiration with the man you love is truly a beautiful thing. He's cheered me on through thick and thin and has been with me every step of the way through my current draft. I love you, baby.

Alex Suggs

I met Alex on TikTok when he posted asking for beta-readers. Since then, he has become one of the greatest friends I've ever had. He has given such positive and uplifting feedback on my draft and shown incredible support and love for the world I've created. His own work on his draft, MoonPhase is absolutely phenomenal, I'd easily recommend it to anyone.

Miles Ross

Miles is an incredibly talented artist and writer. I've had the pleasure of working with him on a number of different projects, including the cover art for "The Light We Guard" and the others in its series. I'm so glad you all get to see my friend's artistic genius on the cover of my very first novel.

Mae Gaynor

Mae is the founder of Taking Root Editorial. Alex recommended them to me when I was looking for editors, and they have been so very amazing to work with! Their edits and notes are always so helpful and have really made my draft shine. They've always been so patient and respectful with me when I needed time to send over my work. I'm so grateful for the work we've accomplished together!!!

Aly Gilmore

Aly runs the Writing Center at Georgia Highlands College. When I first finished writing my draft, I had no idea what I was doing when it came to editing. Aly stepped in and helped me look through every single chapter. She taught me a few things to look for, and after a while I started catching the mistakes at the same time that she did. She is always encouraging my steps forward, showing me grant opportunities and publications. She is the reason I went to Mae when I did. "The Light We Guard" truly would not be where it is without her.

Morgan Teal

Morgan created the absolutely BEAUTIFUL page designs for TLWG. I had tried to make them myself with Google Draw and they just felt so robotic and lifeless. Then I saw a video from Morgan on TikTok and took a shot asking for her help, and she absolutely delivered!!! She's also a very fun person to work with! I can't wait to team up with her on future projects!!
